I regularly shop at a Next store, but mainly for clothes, and rarely get larger items delivered.
I find the quality of their clothes to be excellent, and great value for money, but I do share others concerns that the quality of some of their furniture has gone downhill over the years. My hubby put together a Bronx flat-pack chest of drawers a couple of years ago, and it was terrible quality. It was wobbling about all over the place, so he had to tighten the screw thingys that much, that it split the panels, so we had to return it. For the prices that you pay, you would expect a lot better quality, than laminated chipboard/MDF
At the time, I wasn't that bothered, as I ultimately ended up saving money by buying a better quality chest from another company.
However, i have now decided to write this review after I recently witnessed a neighbour (and a good friend) receiving delivery of her sofas and chairs.

I am a nurse, and in the current climate, we are wearing N95 facemasks, which offer excellent protection to the wearer, and those around them, as they are extremely tight fitting, and filter out approx 95% of airbourne particles.
I also wear disposable gloves and aprons and use eyewear, as the virus can gain access to your body through the eye's moisture, and obviously I'm regularly thoroughly washing my hands.
I was shocked and concerned to see that NEXT delivery guys only had flimsy blue face mask, and were not wearing single use gloves, aprons or eyewear, and I'd be very surprised if their wagons have proper hand washing facilities.
They have to unpack the sofas and chairs and also have to attach the feet, and in total, they were in her house for approx. 15 minutes. In that time, she said they were sweating a lot, and breathing heavily, and 1 kept having to adjust his mask, as it kept going into his eyes.

With no end in sight to this pandemic, I think delivering furniture into people's houses (which is a confined space after all) is crazy, and is only going to help this deadly virus spread faster, especially as they are only wearing poor quality masks, and with their heavy breathing, a lot of their breath will have leaked from the sides of the mask, into the room, and if they had the virus, would have made it more likely for my friend to have caught it, as small droplets of water vapour from exhaled breath can stay floating in the air for hours, in such a small confined space that is her living room.
I don't blame the delivery guys, as they will only be doing what they are told.
But, in my opinion, Next (the company) are risking the health, and lives of their delivery guys, and all the people that they deliver to.
After reading several other reviews on here, it is clear, that a lot of people don't think that Next care about customer service as much anymore.
As a big company, they will probably be thinking more about their shareholders, and if this is the case, then it may well be seen as a classic example of profit before people.
I am still going to order their clothes, which I will get delievered to my doorstep or shed (if nobody is home), but if you are somebody that wants larger items delivered, then I'd seriously think about carrying them in yourself, as you may get more delivered than what you bargained for.
Is your new furniture really that important that it's worth risking your health/lives for?
I have witnessed the devastating impact that this virus has, and at the time of writing, there are a LOT of younger people in their 20's, filling the beds of the Intensive care depts. It's not just older people that are seriously affected !!

Disappointed. Definitely needs improvements on how they operate and take care of their customers. My wife placed an order but after 5 min she realised one of the items had the wrong size. Immediately she got in touch with the customer service chat agent, but they refused to amend or cancel our order. She was told to send it back via post when she gets it even though we have to incur
additional cost to ship back to the UK from Malta. Is this really the best that can be done as an online shop? Ok thanks, but no thanks. Won't buy again.

Absolutely ridiculous!

I tried to make a payment and was said online it did not proceed. The next day I placed another order hoping that I can get it paid and sorted. Just an hour after I placed the second successful order I was notified that the money for the first order has also been deducted from my account.

After all of this, I received an email from SkyNet to say I owe them R1365 for customs clearance for the first order that I did not actually placed. Which is more than the actual clothing?! What will the customs be for the second order? Oh my god, this is getting too much!

Right, then I got to chat with two customer service people stating that I want a refund ASAP. No one can help me with this! No one can cancel the order and no one can understand why I haven't received a tracking number yet for the parcel that is now registered with SkyNet.

Please can someone just refund me and I will be very grateful!

And never buy online from you again!

Stay clear of this company!

I ordered a suit, beginning of April, arrived 2 and 1/2 weeks later, which was way too late for me to order a new pair of pants(I needed a the suit for a wedding, which was one and half week after the delivery, which they wouldn't be able to deliver for either.... = no 5 star review for their delivery either!!!).
The size guide for said pants was absolutely horrendous, as I was practically swimming in them.
Now I am in that terrible position that I want to send back my delivery, as it is completely useless to me.
And I had missed the fact that you have to pay for your own return, which for me, living in DK, sending to Germany, is 275 DKK.
So thank you Next Direct, for letting me try on a suit, for 275 DKK.

Slow delivery

Slow delivery. Still waiting. It has been in transit for far too many days. Won’t order from Next again.

Great products, great prices but rather slow shipping

I love their selection of baby clothes and the quality is very good. Even after several washes, the clothes looks amazing. However, their shipping is rather slow but the great products and great prices make me order again :)

Never again

The quality of the items is good. Unfortunately, the quality of the customer service is not. One item from my order was cancelled by Next without any notification. The rest of the order has arrived 2 weeks later after the initial delivery date. There is no refund for the missing item, the customer support team is acting like there is no problem since the package has been delivered. I've tried communicating with them both via chat and complaints, no luck so far. Never buying from them again.

Terrible, extremely long delivery time

They used to be good before, but now the delivery takes more than a MONTH, if my order ever arrives... I ordered on 02 March, now they are promising delivery on 06 Apr (from Germany to Denmark, ridiculous!). One thing I know for sure - I will never order from them again!

They are no good in shipping

They are no good in shipping. Waiting for my order, just two items, waiting for one month! Today i received ONE item. I don't know what happened with the other. Constantly on emails with them..
They were good before, now they are bad business.

NEXT own me 1570Kr

I have ordered some goods which arrived faulty. I claimed and got approved the refund of return charges. The return postage costed me 1570 kr, yes that much. Nextdirect says that they have approved and the banking team has sent my refund on the 30/12/2020. I have still not received my postage refund! and if that not be enough I have been chasing them up, by ringing and writing several email ever since. They keep replying that the banking team will get back to me within 2 working days. They do not take the initiative to follow up or do anything! We are soon mid march and I still do not have any responce and no money on my account. They do not tell what the fxxx is going on and they do not return my money. I have spoken to my bank and they have no money outstanding. Now they no longer reply even to my emails. I think this is appalling for a company of such capacity and with such turnover!
When I lived in London and ever since I was happy with NEXT service and clothes, but I have to say, that I have now changed my mind. This is some sort of bull! I will no longer be using my 10.000 kr a year at NEXT, I will find a more reliable company.

Do not order from their Nextdirect.gr website unless you are happy to wait weeks for your products

I ordered some items from the Greek Next website, as I'm in Greece (expecting that it would be filled locally), and I was given a delivery date of 4 days hence. I subsequently discovered the order was coming from the UK and therefore was held up in Greek customs for over a week, (post Brexit) waiting for some paperwork from me - of which i was completely unaware i needed to provide.
Their courier, DHL, did not get in touch with me to request I provide the required paperwork, and did not respond to my casing contacts through their website. This was only resolved as I managed to email the Greek DHL MD directly after a week's delay to complain about the lack of contact.
My parcel has been released from customs for 6 days now and has been passed to a 3rd party courier (for which i have no contact information) who also appears incapable of contacting me or actually delivering to me.
I have contacted the international Next complaints email and had multiple contacts from different people who are completely ineffectual in actioning anything internally that would resolve this issue and complete the order fulfillment. I'm fobbed off with, "I understand this is irritating, but it will be with you in 3 days" "it seems to be in customs, please call DHL to chase the parcel" "They need some paperwork from you - What paperwork and how do i get it to them? - I don't know please call them".
There are a number of issues with this debacle:
1) They were never going to be able to meet the date upon which they gave as a delivery date since Brexit.
2) I was not advised at the point purchase of they would ship from outside GR / the EU and hence have the import delays - i wouldn't have ordered if they had.
3) I am going to have to pay the customs fees and claim them back from Next on delivery of my parcel (i have no idea how much these will be nor how long it will take to get them back)
4) There was no prior notification about the paperwork i needed to provide once they decided to ship from the UK - this would have prevented the delays at customs.
5) There seems to be no contract management on their service provider DHL and no ability to influence resolution for problematic deliveries; a service for which Next is presumably paying, as well as the cost for time in the customs process.
6) These products must have a significant mark up on them to cover all these inefficiencies and additional costs for Next to make a profit - if they are actually doing so with such inefficient processes.
Needless to say I wont be ordering from Next again - even once I'm back in the UK.

Never order from this website!

Never order from this website! Their orders arrive very late, if they arrive and sometimes there are missing items that the company will not deliver after.
You will also spend a lot of time talking with customer service where the only thing that they tell you is that they cannot do anything about it.
Don't waste your time or money!

I liked buying clothes from next direct. The quality of the clothes is great and they have amazing designs.

Terrible customer service

Still waiting for a refund after 5 weeks. Have shopped at Next in zzuk for 20 years. I'm now in Oz and will never purchase anything from them again.
